Lingyu, MAPH 2024

Entering the second quarter of graduate studies, I have experienced many noticeable changes. The course workload has gradually increased, along with a growing volume of readings. Additionally, there's the timely submission of tasks related to our thesis. Under such pressure, I have begun seeking interesting activities in my spare time to relax.

Here are some recommendations for finding enjoyable activities:

Art Events: I recommend checking the official website of the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the school for relevant information. The school provides excellent opportunities for us to explore content that we wouldn't encounter in our regular studies. Moreover, we can witness the talents of some truly remarkable artists. Specifically, by clicking on "Programs & Events" on the website, you can find a list of activities for each month, week, and even day.

Movies: If you enjoy watching movies, don't miss out on Doc Films. They offer daily screenings and occasional special film events. Furthermore, there is a wide variety of film genres, such as "Mommy Issues: Freudian Relationships in Film" or "Dinosaur Plus on Film." I highly recommend going to the cinema to fully immerse yourself in the cinematic experience.

Concerts, Theater Performances, or Sports Events: Additionally, if you are interested in attending concerts or similar events, you can use platforms like Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, DICE, Eventbrite, Vivid Seats, StubHub, etc., to buy tickets for concerts, theater performances, or sports events. When you set your location to your current residence, these platforms recommend many nearby activities.

Friends, don't overwork yourselves; remember to balance work and leisure! Be diligent in your studies when learning, and have a joyful time when relaxing!
